​Paul Generale is the executive vice president of CHRISTUS Health in Irving, Texas. In 2023 Paul Generale spoke to Dallas Morning News about constructing the new CHRISTUS headquarters in Irving.

The CHRISTUS Health building is a 15-story high-rise towering over the Las Colinas Urban Center. With an anticipated opening date of fall 2023, the building will provide space for nearly 2,000 employees at the non-profit health system. More importantly for the surrounding community, it is the region’s first new high-rise project in over three decades.

The company outgrew its original office space years ago and was subleasing additional buildings when the COVID-19 pandemic struck. As remote work declined, CHRISTUS Health executive vice president and chief administrative officer Marty Margetts returned to work on finding a new home for the company.

At 460,000 square feet, it will represent a nearly 33 percent increase in office space for the faith-based health system. Unique features of the building include a heritage center on the first floor and a 109-seat chapel connected to the lobby.

Christus Health is a Catholic faith-based health system comprising 350 health facilities and services in Louisiana, New Mexico, Texas, and three Latin American countries. One of these health facilities is the Christus Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institute in East Texas. This facility employs 50 full-time athletic trainers that serve close to 35,000 athletes from school districts, colleges, and universities around East Texas.

According to Christus' clinic athletic trainer Joe Ayres, the Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institute's athletic training program constantly expands. Christus Health has the largest group of athletic trainers in East Texas. They work as one team, discussing and brainstorming the athletes' injuries and the appropriate treatment plans for each case. Ayres said that since joining Christus eight years ago, he has continued to learn new ways to do things from his peers.
