Based in Dallas, Paul Generale serves as Christus Health's executive vice president, delivering strategic guidance in the community health sphere. Part of a team of compassionate providers motivated by improving patient welfare, Paul Generale serves a dynamic organization that now spans more than 600 clinics, hospitals, and other care facilities.
In August 2023, the Christus Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler, Texas, announced the unveiling of the Hope Monument. Funded by retired OB/GYN physician Dr. Sutliff and his wife, Lydia, the monument serves as a memorial to children who have lost their lives as a result of miscarriages, traumatic deliveries, and accidents. As Dr. Sutliff described it, losing a child within a clinical context was “the saddest thing . . . encountered in otherwise usually happy situations.” Designed to facilitate healing and self-reflection, Hope Monuments have already been installed at about 30 locations nationwide. Dr. Sutliff successfully contacted the sculptor directly to have one made for the East Texas community. For years to come, it will give parents a sense of hope that they exist within a greater plan and will someday see the child they grieve for again.
