CHRISTUS Health, an international Catholic nonprofit health system, has partnered with Gerald Champion Regional Medical Center in Alamogordo, New Mexico with the goal to preserve and enhance healthcare in the region. Based in Irving, Texas, CHRISTUS Health has over 600 healthcare centers, including community hospitals, urgent care centers, and physician clinics, all serving communities in Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Chile, Colombia, and Mexico.
Gerald Champion Regional Medical Center is a nonprofit Level III Trauma hospital founded in 1949. It offers a wide range of medical and surgical specialties, urgent care, and other services to South Central New Mexico. Gerald Champion chose CHRISTUS Health as its partner based on shared values and a mission of healing after considering 27 organizations. The partnership will allow Gerald Champion to leverage the strength of the CHRISTUS network, with increased investments in capital, recruitment and retention, and the expansion of innovative and clinical capabilities. Gerald Champion's CEO, Jim Heckert, will continue in his role under the new partnership.
