A 98-bed hospital in Alamogordo, New Mexico, Gerald Champion Regional Medical Center provides a diverse range of healthcare services, including emergency care, behavioral medicine, family medicine, diagnostic imaging, and cardiac rehabilitation. Through the partnership, Gerald Champion Regional Medical Center will leverage CHRISTUS Health's network to expand its staff recruitment and retention efforts while investing in capital improvements. Mr. Jim Heckert, CEO of Gerald Champion, told the press that the partnership decision is based on an 18-month planning process that positions CHRISTUS Health as a suitable partner with shared values and long-term goals. CHRISTUS Health prioritizes equitable access to care and job opportunities. The non-profit health system plans to allocate 10 percent of its job openings to underserved regions.
