A member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Healthcare Financial Management Association, Paul Generale is an established healthcare senior executive in Dallas who has held many executive positions within the CHRISTUS Health system. Paul Generale currently serves as the executive vice president of the Catholic health system. The nonprofit consists of over 600 facilities across many states and offers a wide range of gynecological services, including hysteroscopy.
CHRISTUS Health affiliates are experienced with various gynecological surgeries and procedures, including hysteroscopy. Hysteroscopy is a multipronged diagnostic and surgical procedure. Doctors often recommend the procedure to investigate some typical signs of reproductive system issues - such as vaginal bleeding, repeated miscarriages, and heavy periods. Hysteroscopy can help assess fibroids and noncancerous growths in the womb. Doctors also perform hysteroscopy when repositioning or removing displaced intrauterine devices or removing scar tissue (that can cause infertility) from the womb. Hysteroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure that sometimes involves surgery. It usually takes less than 30 minutes and does not require an incision to gain access. A tiny camera is introduced to the patient's womb during the procedure through the vagina. Local or general anesthetics may be administered during the procedure.
