Two Diagnostic Techniques and Tests for Breast Cancer

An example of one of these tests for breast cancer is a biopsy. A biopsy is one approach to determine if a breast mass or aberrant tissue is cancerous. A surgeon or radiologist extracts a piece or all of the questionable tissue during a biopsy. A pathologist examines the questionable tissue under a microscope to look for cancerous cells and establish a diagnosis.

Another breast cancer test is imaging. Breast cancer imaging aids in the diagnosis and staging of the illness. Ultrasonography, breast MRI, and mammography are all employed. The results of these tests determine the diagnosis.
